Wright Austin T Gas Liquid Separators

These high efficiency Wright Austin air liquid separators employ a patented Vortex Containment Plate (VCP) and combined with centrifugal action assures maximum separation of entrainment with minimal chances of reentrainment.  Wright Austin accomplished this without complex baffles, deflectors and other structures that obstruct the flow-stream and this results in very low pressure drops.  All T style air liquid separators are constructed to ASME code.  Not sure what you need?  Fill-out our inquiry form for assistance.

10-R Series Air Liquid Separators 
T air liquid separators are code constructed of cast iron, carbon steel and 316SS and designed for a range of industrial applications including steam pipelines and compressed air pipelines.  Castings are available with threaded connections as small as 3/4" to 3" in size and with ANSI flanged connections from 1" to 5" in size. TS air liquid separators are code constructed of carbon steel and 316SS and designed for a range of petrochemical and inert gas applications where heavier than normal liquid is present or a desired liquid hold-up is required in the vessel.  Standard designs offered with FNPT and SWE in 1" through 2" sizes and in 150#, 300# and 600# flanged connections up to 24" sizes. 10-R air liquid separators are designed to handle liquid "slugs" and heavy loads because it has a large reservoir.  These are common in the chemical processing industry where large volumes of fluids need to be separated from gases.  They are also used as flash/surge/scrubbers/demisters ahead of steam turbines.

Overview

  • T style air liquid separators are designed to remove entrained liquid and solids from air, gas or steam.  This specific design is effective for applications where the entrained liquid flow rate is up to 40% by weight of the units flow capacity.  TS separators will handle up to 60% by weight of the units flow capacity and the 10-R series for loads up to 90%.

  • When properly sized, our air liquid separators will remove up to 99% of all liquid and solids greater than 10 microns in size from an air, gas or steam flow.  The removal is accomplished by a design that causes the air/gas/steam to enter a controlled centrifugal flow.  This results in forcing the entrained material to the outer wall and the VCP prevents reentrainment.

  • T air liquid separators are constructed to ASME code for unfired vessels, Section VIII, Division 1.  An ASME stamp and CRN registration is available for sizes 2 inches and larger.
